2/27/2023 Study by RNC Pharma and Medvestnik: More Than 55% of Russian Physicians Are Not Sure How New Compensations Work
In early February, branches of the Social Fund of the Russian Federation began distributing special payments to doctors as part of a government program to support healthcare workers.
In 2022, Russia imported 15.9 billion rubles’ worth of veterinary vaccines (EEU imports excluded; customs clearance and VAT included), up 3.4% from 2021)—practically the same as in the past three years. In physical terms, 7 million packages were imported, up 14.9% from 2021. If calculated in doses, the import was 21.7 billion, up 19.8% from 2021.
In 2022, Russia imported 38.2 billion rubles’ worth of veterinary drugs (customs clearance and VAT included; imports from EEU countries excluded), up only 2.8% from 2021, although the import volume was record-worthy. In physical terms, Russia imported around 34.1 million packages, up 7.1% from 2021. As for feed supplements, imports went down 5.2%, with 41 billion rubles’ worth of products. In physical terms, Russia imported 149,700 tons, down 7.7% from 2021.
In 2022, Russia imported 838.9 billion rubles’ worth of ready-made pharmaceutical drugs (customs clearance and VAT included), up 6.2% from 2021. In physical terms, imports went down 8.7%, which is not that bad, considering all the sanctions, sharp demand fluctuations, and a very high base in 2021. As for bulk drugs, the import volume was 184 billion rubles, up 9.2% from 2021. In physical terms, however, imports decreased 34.3% in minimum dosage units (MDU), with 1.49 billion MDUs imported.
In 2022, Russian manufacturers produced 668.8 billion rubles’ worth of ready-made pharmaceutical drugs (manufacturer’s prices, VAT included), up 7.1% from 2021. In physical terms, the manufacture went up only 1%, with around 4.17 billion packages produced. The average package remained more or less the same, which is why the growth rate in minimum dosage units (MDU) was 1.7%, with 79.6 billion MDUs manufactured.
2/2/2023 API Import to Russia in 2022
In 2022, Russia imported 191.6 billion rubles’ worth of APIs (customs clearance and VAT included), down 4.2% from 2021 for the first time in 12 years. This is the result of a significant reduction in prices for raw materials with the ruble strengthening, rather than the import falling in physical terms. On the contrary, the import grew by as much as 18.8% in physical terms, with 20,800 tons of pharmacopoeial and commercial APIs imported.
